Why I'm standing

I am running for Mayor to ensure Upper Hutt thrives as a connected, sustainable and inclusive city. I believe in transparent decision-making, stronger community engagement and empowering local voices, including Māori, ethnic communities and youth. I want to invest in infrastructure, recreation and services that meet current needs while planning for the future. My goal is a council that listens, acts fairly and builds a city we're all proud to call home.

About me

I am proud to have served the community in council for 15 years, six of these as your Deputy Mayor. Throughout this journey, I've been a passionate advocate for our city's stunning natural environment and rich recreational opportunities. Upper Hutt is a place where families can genuinely live, work and play. I will continue to help make Upper Hutt affordable into the future in shaping this vision.

My priorities
  1. Build community trust in council by open, honest and timely communication by actively listening.
  2. Manage council debt responsibly while continuing to provide essential services the community needs.
  3. Advocate for affordable water solutions that benefit the community now and as the population grows.
