Dunedin City Council

The Dunedin City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Why I'm standing

I am running for council because I am just like you. I want to see Otepoti/Dunedin thrive with healthy people who care about each other, who love their environment and want to bring their children up here, appreciating the beauty of wildlife, architecture, historical buildings, art, education, the people and the vibe of Dunedin.

About me

I believe I will bring a fresh approach by coming from someone who knows what it is like to struggle, have a job, pay the bills like the rates, keep a roof over my head and food on the table. I have a no-nonsense attitude of getting things done. My passion is to help people. I am on four committees and it is so rewarding to see how it makes a positive impact on people's lives.

My priorities
  1. Stop rate rises.
  2. Improve inner-city parking and make it viable for everyone to use, including car parks for staff at the airport.
  3. Address climate change by looking at ways to save our coastal areas and South Dunedin and scrutinise council spending.
