Why I'm standing

I am frustrated with the current council who don't listen and are not making decisions on what the community want. I now have the time and energy to increase my input into the community, to use my skill set in a positive, proactive way. My belief is that the role of council is to create the environment which enables the community to thrive. Basics are important to me. I think I can make a difference.

About me

For 20 years I have been raising our three children and assisting my husband in our farm/small businesses. I have been immersed in their sports and schooling at a practical and governance level and on iD Dunedin Fashion, Mosgiel pool development, and Otago Farmers Market boards. I now have time and energy to increase my community input. With experience in accounting and Dunedin City Council corporate positions, I have extensive knowledge of the way Dunedin works.

My priorities
  1. Back to basics. Get the council to listen to what the community wants – restore people's faith in Dunedin City Council.
  2. Review operational and capital spending – rates increases shouldn't be more than inflation.
  3. Restore our satisfaction in the city by fixing the potholes, removing weeds, and cleaning up the city.
