Why I'm standing

Democracy relies upon people like myself being prepared to stand for elected office and upon you and all citizens voting. I believe in public service. I am very concerned by the attempts by some groups such as anti-vax and anti-mandate to question and destroy our liberal democracy. The price of democracy is participation – that is why I am standing for election.

About me

I am proudly multicutural and multilingual. My politics are liberal and I support the Greens, Labour and Te Pati Māori. I was involved in student politics and protest movements against the Vietnam War, Aramoana, Springbok tour and Bastion Point. I was an elected DHB board member. I have owned and managed number of local businesses including pharmacies and the Huntsman Steakhouse. I have governance and management experience. Personal ethics and integrity are my core values.

My priorities
  1. Ensure generational investment in infrastructure to build a city for future generations.
  2. Honour and implement Te Tiriti o Waitangi including co-governance with Mana Whenua and Maata Waka.
  3. A public transport system that is frequent, flexible and serves the whole city.
