Why I'm standing

I want to see more young, progressive and qualified people on council, achieving lasting positive change. I believe the council needs fresh people who can get back to having respectful debates and working more collaboratively. With all the challenges we face both environmentally and socially in Ōtepoti, Dunedin, I am running because I want to see a better spread of representation in the council chamber, bringing more understanding from many of our diverse, flax-roots communities.

About me

I have learnt a lot and connected into community development while managing the South Dunedin Community Network. I have created an understanding of critical issues South Dunedin is facing and a city wide understanding of community development. With a background in project management and governance and university education, I have the skills. Under 40 and raising children here. My core values are; equity of opportunity, living sustainably, the importance of whānau and serving my community.

My priorities
  1. Ensuring discussion and decisions are relevant to our communities and their needs, living in Dunedin.
  2. Ensuring all issues and solutions are equity based for all who live here.
  3. Ensuring environmental impact is a key measurable in every aspect of council decisions.
