Why I'm standing

As a ratepayer I haven't been happy with the performance of the current council. I think they have pushed an agenda that is not what the people of Dunedin want. I want there to be greater scrutiny of council spending and less money wasted. If elected, I want to be part of a council that actually listens and acts in the best interest of Dunedin and its people.

About me

I have a degree in economics and worked in the finance industry for 30 years. I actually worked at the Dunedin City Council for 6 years as its Assistant Treasurer. With my background, I will bring fiscal prudence to the council. I am passionate about the environment and want to make sure there is a planet for future generations to enjoy. I am a good communicator. I want to be part of a council that listens.

My priorities
  1. Reduce the forecast debt levels and reduce the rates increases projected.
  2. Invest in recycling technologies so we can reduce the amount of waste that goes into the landfill.
  3. Re-introduce a commuter train service to reduce congestion on the roads.
