Dunedin City Council

The Dunedin City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Dunedin City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I believe if you see a problem coming and do nothing about it then you are the problem. I want to see more feedback from the community to the reports that come from the DCC and make the council accountable to the community that voted for them. We want Dunedites to be proud of their community and to feel that they are represented by the council.

About me

I want to make sure common sense does not go out the window. Someone needs to speak up about it. It is just too easy to blame other people for doing a crap job than stepping up and fixing the problem. The system needs to change. The DCC is the most unpopular it has even been and it's obvious why. I will give it my best to change that.

My priorities
  1. Parking in Dunedin is a massive problem like a dumpster fire and DCC does nothing.
  2. Businesses are the blood that flows in Dunedin arteries and without it Dunedin would suffer.
  3. We need to upgrade Marlow Park "Dinosaur Park" desperately. More funding for parks and activities.
