Dunedin City Council

The Dunedin City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Dunedin City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I believe that good business is built on a foundation of good relationships. It is only by working together, constructively, that Dunedin will become an even better place to live, work and study. To benefit all ratepayers, I'll bring a partnership ethos and problem-solving models to the debate table because I want to work constructively. No point-scoring. No name-calling. Just a strong determination to focus on finding sensible and sustainable solutions, for good.

About me

As a professional staff member and as a community volunteer I have extensive governance experience in the education, sporting, performing arts and business sectors. I've represented many individuals at mediation and advocate for those facing significant challenges. My professional roles have been, and are, centred around the successful management of people, projects, and risks, whilst also ensuring process and practice are compliant and robust, yet flexible enough to meet changing demands and future challenges.

My priorities
  1. Align Dunedin's policies and practices with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals.
  2. All Dunedin City Council decisions are to be sustainable and cost-effective and will directly benefit ratepayers.
  3. Prioritise the revitalisation strategies in support of Dunedin's CBD.
